Compliance

Prohibited & restrictedbusinesses.

Every merchant gets their own merchant account at the licensed acquiring partner, and that partner underwrites and screens each business directly. This page is our routing triage: which categories onboard normally, which need evidence before any rail will carry them, and which we won’t route at all.

The blanket rule

Legality first,category second.

Anything illegal in the buyer’s or the seller’s jurisdiction is prohibited regardless of the category it might otherwise fit. Classification refers to what your business actually does — if the acquiring partner’s underwriting finds the activity was misrepresented, the application is rejected.

Restricted

Evidence-gatedcategories.

Routable only where an acquiring partner has explicit written appetite, and always gated on evidence — a license, age verification, or a structure review. Expect the partner’s underwriting to ask for it.

Standard onboarding

Everything else,normal path.

Categories with standard onboarding include saas, software & developer tools, digital goods, video gaming, e-commerce (physical goods), media & subscriptions, education, professional services, hosting & infrastructure, crypto-native saas, nonprofits & donations and vpn & privacy tools. If your business doesn’t fit a listed category, pick “Other” in the activation form and describe what you do — a human reads every submission.

This list moves as rails are contracted: when a partner grants written appetite for a restricted vertical, that category gains a routable path — it stays evidence-gated. For how funds flow and who holds them, read Trust & fund flows.
